2017 Burleigh County Cup Results
With the 'North Dakota' calm winds (predicted 8-10mph, actual must have been 20+mph) at our sides, the 6th annual Burleigh County Cup and Sippy Cup went off without a hitch once again. Thanks to all the riders, volunteers, Burleigh County Sheriffs and of course our incredible sponsors who make this all possible:
Plans are already in the mix for next year's Cup, so save the date as we'll be going back to our usual weekend, the Saturday of Mother's Day, May 12, 2018. We'll see you at the Cup!

6th Annual Burleigh County Cup registration is open!
Oh, you’d like to ride gravel with us? Well friend, we’d love to have you. The 6th annual Burleigh County Cup / Sippy Cup is going down May 20, 2017. We’re pushing it back one week later this year due to scheduling conflicts. While we apologize that this may interfere with other events or plans you may have, we promise you that this year’s Burleigh County Cup will not be one you’ll want to miss. We’ve got some new things in the works that’ll make this year’s ride/race the best yet.
What you need to do to secure your spot at the starting line is send a post card with your intentions. Again this year we’ll be limiting the number of entries to 150 total for BCC and Sippy Cup. We're doing this to ensure the experience doesn't get watered down … Basically we want to be able to provide the same high-quality event complete with food, mapped and supported course, drinks and good times and we want to keep the cost at nothing to you the rider. Get your card in, get outside on your bike and get stoked for the 6th running of the Burleigh County Cup!

About this event: This will be a self supported gravel road cycling event (though the 75 miles option will have a drop bag option) on the gravel roads (very hilly at times) of Burleigh County, just outside of Bismarck, North Dakota on May 20, 2017. There will be two distances: 35 miles (The Sippy Cup) and 75 miles (Burleigh County Cup). Note: We strongly discourage sandbagging. A top podium spot in the shorter distance when you’re capable of the longer distance is not against the rules, but it is against the code …
To register, purchase or make a post card and CLEARLY write this info on it:
Your Name
Gender
E-mail Address
Distance class (35 mile Sippy Cup or 75 Mile Burleigh County Cup)
Send them to:
BCC / Huber
1020 West Highland Acres Road
Bismarck, N.D. 58501
The event is free to all participants thanks to our awesome sponsors. Show up at Eagles Park (just north of Bismarck, N.D. on 1804 see map) on Saturday May 20 for the ride. Exact time of start will depend on the temperature. We like to start early as possible but if we feel it will compromise the rider's experience we will start a little later. We determine the start time a week or two out and go by local weather forecasts. We will email everyone to confirm you are registered. This email will come out after all registrations are accounted for. Don't stress getting in, if you sent your card in by the due date you'll be fine. It may also be worth checking back here close to May 20 and following us on Facebook for any updates. This year we again have the Eagles park campground for the entire weekend, and everyone is welcome to stay there free of charge on Friday before the race and also Saturday night following. We will have a post ride meal for all participants and post ride beer available for the 21+.

A few things to make sure you have for race day:
1 - Properly calibrated cycling computer or GPS. This is a mapped out route and you will want this to determine the distance in between turns. Sure you can try to follow the pack, but some roads are double backed on and looking for tire tracks may result in your getting lost. Have a cycling computer on your bike and ready to go.
2 - Cue card holder. You will be given cards with the map of directions on them the day of the ride. You can stuff them in your pocket or bag, but having something like a Banjo Brother's cue card holder makes life and the ride a lot easier.
3 - Extra parts. Having an extra tube and pump is just common sense. What about an extra chain link or a multi tool though? Carrying a heavy load stinks, but not as bad as walking 30 miles back to the park.
4 - Drop bag. If you're riding the 75 mile Burleigh County Cup you may want to have a drop bag. Bring a small bag to check-in on Saturday with extra food, beverage, tools, tubes or whatever your heart desires. This bag will be available for you at roughly the 35 miles.
5 - A positive attitude. We’re all here because we enjoy the ground under our tires, the wind in our face and the fellow cyclist pedaling next to us. Pedal, smile and get stoked. Riding bikes is awesome.
That's all for now. Email any and all questions you have to burleighcountycup@gmail.com

BCC Numero 5!
The dust is finally settling here at BCBC/BCC headquarters from what turned out to be a record-breaking year. The was a record number of cyclists, 111, that rolled out from Eagle Park. A new course record was set and it was by the first overall winner from Burleigh County at a time of 4:08:17!
The great weather, awesome gravel, killer food and great prizes left a smile on everyone's face that we saw. And that's what it's all about to us ... Good times and riding bikes whether you are a first-timer, weekend warrior or a serious ape on the gravel. Get out there and get after it.
Below are the full results from the day and a couple of photos of the day. If you missed out on the pre-order of the 2016 BCC shirts, you have until this Sunday, 5/15/16, to get your order in. Email us your size and color choice, brown or gray to BurleighCountyCup@gmail.com. We'll email back payment instructions. They are $20 per shirt. We also have a limited number of the BCBC water bottles left, 2 for $20. Reach out to us at the same email if you're interested in those! $5 will get the items shipped to your door. All proceeds from these items go back into keeping the Burleigh County Cup, the Bis-Man Cyclocross Series and various other cycling events put on locally alive. All of these events are, and will remain FREE! Thanks for your support. Long live the Cup!
